Following the success and complete sell-out of the first collaboration, BLUNT are proud to partner with Graham Tipene for a second time.
This BLUNT is inspired by Kawakawa Pounamu, a treasured variety of Aotearoa New Zealand greenstone known for its rich, deep green tone which resembles the leaves of the native kawakawa plant. Pounamu is held in the highest regard, the same way Te Reo Māori is deserving of protection, respect, and active use.
The inspiration also carries personal significance. Kawakawa, a small town in Northland was where Graham’s father was raised among his Ngāti Hine people. A native speaker, he lived through the 1950s and 60s, a time where people were discouraged from speaking Te Reo Māori. This collaboration acknowledges that history and honours the strength of those who safeguarded the language through challenging times.
In time for Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, this kaupapa extends well beyond one week of recognition. It is about honouring Te Reo Māori every day, keeping the beautiful language visible, spoken, and alive for generations to come.
Graham Tipene is a renowned Tā Moko artist and cultural advisor from Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei. His work is deeply rooted in the traditions and values of mana whenua, and he is celebrated for his intricate designs that honour Māori heritage and identity. One of his works, Te Tatau Kaitiaki, is the carving on the doors to the entrance to Te Ao Mārama, the South Atrium.
BLUNT Umbrellas are built to last, tested to extremes and are modular for repairability.
Sustainability is one of the core pillars of BLUNT - their umbrellas are designed on a 'repair, not replace' philosophy. There are multiple BLUNT workshops across the globe to repair their products, as well as encouraging customers to do their own repairs at home.

STORE PICK UP
Store Pick Up allows you to order online and pick up your order in-store, without incurring any delivery fees.
Your order will be ready the next business day, and our pick up hours are 10AM – 5PM (except Christmas Day).

DELIVERY WITHIN AOTEAROA NEW ZEALAND
Shipping costs will be calculated and added at checkout.
Online orders are dispatched Monday to Friday.
Allow 3 - 5 business days for delivery within New Zealand (please allow an extra business day for South Island and Rural addresses).
Once your order has been collected by our courier, you’ll be notified via email and provided a tracking number. All orders/parcels over $30 are labelled as a “signature required” courier service for security purposes.
*Our standard shipping excludes PO Boxes, Waiheke island, Great Barrier island, Chatham island and Stewart island.
INTERNATIONAL DELIVERIES
Shipping costs will be calculated and added at checkout.
Please be advised, orders that are shipped internationally, could be subject to the relevant taxes, duties and tariffs applied by the country the items are being delivered into.

Shipping costs include both postage and handling fee and will be calculated and added at checkout.
All US orders are shipped using DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) Service. This means duties and taxes are paid upfront, ensuring a smooth delivery process.
Applicable duties, taxes will be automatically calculated and added at checkout.
If any inspection fees or other unforeseen customs-related charges occur, you will be responsible for these charges. In such cases, we will send you an invoice for payment.
