This ceramic poppy wall hanging has been hand-made by Adele and Richard who create ceramic works from their Auckland based studio, Borrowed Earth. Each poppy is uniquely hand-crafted so each poppy may vary slightly in size and colour.
The poppy is an international icon of hope and remembrance. Poppies were the first flowers that grew in the Battlefields of Flanders during WWI.
We will remember them.
Borrowed Earth started back in the '90s. Adele was between jobs when Mum taught her how to pot. Eventually Dad gave in and his garage became her studio. Then Richard came along. Back then he was a telecommunication technician and Adele was selling work at local markets, eventually Richard become the other half of Borrowed Earth.
Now well established with a range of designs, Adelle and Richard take pride in creating new ways to share their unique view of the world, honouring their Māori, Pacific and English heritage.
We believe that we can all make positive changes to the world by the choices we make everyday. We are committed to bringing you handmade work with character that, over time, will become treasured family pieces.

Your order will be ready the next business day, and our pick up hours are 10AM – 5PM Monday to Friday.

Online orders are dispatched Monday to Friday.
Allow 3 - 5 business days for delivery within New Zealand (please allow an extra business day for South Island and Rural addresses).
Once your order has been collected by our courier, you’ll be notified via email and provided a tracking number. All orders/parcels are labelled as a “signature required” courier service for security purposes.
*Our standard shipping excludes PO Boxes, Waiheke island, Great Barrier island, Chatham island and Stewart island.
