This elegant brooch made by Neil Adcock features a Huia bird crafted from titanium set over a beautiful piece of pounamu.
For Māori the huia was revered as a symbol of nobility, leadership and hierarchy. The white-tipped tail feathers were worn as head adornments to signify chiefs and people of great mana (authority and power).
Neil was born 1957 in Aotearoa - New Zealand. He attended Wellington School of Design and his early works were exhibited in the National Art Gallery, Wellington. Neil is a self-taught jeweller and sculptor and has a passion for using and bringing together earthly and local materials such as kauri copal/gum, (New Zealand amber), pounamu and other stones. Neil's designs are bold, strong, singular and contemporary. His work has been shown both locally and internationally including the 2018 Venice Biennale where his work was showcased by New Zealand’s Representative, Lisa Reihana.

Online orders are dispatched Monday to Friday.
Allow 3 - 5 business days for delivery within New Zealand (please allow an extra business day for South Island and Rural addresses).
Once your order has been collected by our courier, you’ll be notified via email and provided a tracking number. All orders/parcels are labelled as a “signature required” courier service for security purposes.
*Our standard shipping excludes PO Boxes, Waiheke island, Great Barrier island, Chatham island and Stewart island.
INTERNATIONAL DELIVERIES
