Judy Newton has recently returned to the South Island and works from her home studio in New Brighton, Ōtautahi, having lived in Titirangi, Auckland, for the past 23 years.

Judy uses coloured window glass, stone, ceramics (broken china) and sterling silver to create her jewellery, finding inspiration in nature and bird life of Aotearoa. Each piece is individually shaped using diamond/lapidary equipment. Recycled materials are used where possible - giving these materials a new life as items of adornment appeals to Judy. Glass pieces are made from off-cuts from lead-light glass, with the historic ‘pressed’ glass having a former life as a window in an old villa.
